Stay where you are
This fish, caught at +1.5C at 600m was put in our tanks on the ship. Overnight the sea surface temperature dropped to -1.5C and ice must’ve come into the seawater system. Fishes that aren’t adapted to living in icy conditions, like this L.larseni, froze instantly upon contact with the ice.
