A taste of science
Until recently there hasn’t been a lot of pressure on the Antarctic fisheries, however in the past the Russians have tried their hand at catching this one. It’s one the icy-white icefish called C. gunnari. It can be caught in large numbers (though we don’t catch it very often). After taking samples, Chris had the cook on the LMG steam it with ginger and soy sauce. Delicious and fatty. Welcome change from ship’s fare.
